Housecall Pro Alternative

The Housecall Pro Alternative That Doesn't Price By The Seat

Housecall Pro's entry plan is one user. Add a second tech and you're on Essentials at $149–$189/mo. Pass eight and every seat is another $35. Obravetta Pro is $297/mo for unlimited team members, with the marketing and follow-up layer included rather than waiting on a higher tier.

The Short Answer

Obravetta is an all-in-one platform for home service businesses that combines job management with customer acquisition. Plans are $27/mo for 1 user, $97/mo for up to 3, and $297/mo for unlimited users, with a website builder, email and text marketing, automated follow-up, missed-call text back and review automation included at every tier.

Housecall Pro is $59/mo annual or $79/mo month-to-month for one user on Basic, $149/$189 for five users on Essentials, and $299/$329 for eight users on Max, with additional seats at $35/mo. QuickBooks Online sync and employee GPS tracking start on Essentials; the sales proposal tool, route optimization and recurring service plans are Max only.

Housecall Pro is the better pick if you need consumer financing, GPS tracking and route optimization built in. Obravetta is the better pick if your problem is not enough jobs coming in — and if you don't want to be repriced every time you hire.

Side By Side On Price

8 users $297 ($247.50) Max $329 ($299)

Obravetta annual billing charges for ten months instead of twelve; the parenthetical is that annual total divided by twelve. Housecall Pro figures are from Housecall Pro's published pricing page, which also shows introductory offers — $26 for the first month on Basic and Essentials, and $99/mo for three months on Max — after which the standard rate applies. Both companies change pricing; verify current rates on each company's own site before you buy.

Where The Money Actually Goes

Two things in Housecall Pro's structure catch people out, and neither is hidden — they're just easy to miss when you're comparing headline prices.

Basic Is One Person

Housecall Pro Basic is a single-user plan, and it doesn't include QuickBooks Online sync or employee GPS tracking. The moment you hire a second tech or want your books to reconcile automatically, you're on Essentials. That's $189/mo month-to-month, up from $79 — a 139% jump driven by hiring one person.

Obravetta Starter is also one seat at $27/mo, but Growth covers three at $97/mo, and Pro covers everyone at $297/mo. The step up is smaller and it stops.

The Best Tools Live On Max

Route optimization, the sales proposal tool and recurring service plans are Max-only. For an HVAC or pest control shop, recurring service plans are often the single feature that justified buying software in the first place — and that's the $299–$329 tier.

Past eight users, Max adds $35/mo per seat. A twelve-person crew on Max is $469/mo month-to-month. Obravetta Pro is $297/mo at twelve users, or at fifty.

The Difference Isn't Price. It's Where The Software Starts.

Both platforms quote, schedule, dispatch, invoice and take a card. They're built around different moments in the job.

Housecall Pro Starts At "You Got The Call"

Housecall Pro is field service management, and it's good at it — dispatch, price book, job costing, consumer financing at the point of sale, GPS on your techs, optimized routes. The workflow assumes the customer already found you and already picked you.

Lead generation, follow-up campaigns and a website sit outside that core or in separate products.

Obravetta Starts At "Someone Searched"

Obravetta covers the same job management ground, then adds the acquisition layer underneath it as standard.

  • Missed-call text back — the caller gets a text within seconds, from your number
  • Automated follow-up — on the $27 plan, not two tiers up
  • Email & text campaigns — included, not a separate product
  • A website built to convert — built for you on Growth and Pro
  • Review automation — requests fire when the job closes
  • Unified inbox — text, email, web chat, Facebook and Google in one thread

When Housecall Pro Is The Better Choice

We'd rather you pick the right tool than switch and regret it. Housecall Pro is the stronger fit if:

  • You close big tickets at the kitchen table. Native consumer financing at the point of sale is a real advantage for HVAC replacements and roof jobs, and we don't have an equivalent.
  • You need to see where your trucks are. Employee GPS tracking and route optimization are built in. We don't do either.
  • Maintenance agreements are your business model. Recurring service plans are native on Max. We can approximate it with automation, but native is native.
  • You pay techs on commission. Their commission tracking is built in from Essentials.
  • You're already at 5 users and prepaying annually. Essentials at $149/mo is cheaper than our Pro at $247.50/mo. If you don't need the marketing layer, that's just a better deal and we'll say so.

If none of that described you — but "I need more jobs coming in" did — that's the conversation we're built for.

What Switching Actually Looks Like

1. Export Your Data

Pull customers, job history and open invoices out of Housecall Pro as CSV. Everything in your account is yours to export.

2. Import & Rebuild

We import customers and contacts, rebuild your pipeline stages, and set up your calendar and booking links. On Pro, we do the whole build for you.

3. Run Both For Two Weeks

Keep Housecall Pro live while you learn ours. Your trial is 14 days and neither platform requires a contract, so overlapping costs you one month at worst.

Two things to plan for: finish collecting open invoices in Housecall Pro rather than migrating them mid-cycle, and if you use consumer financing, confirm your financing partner's own portal still works before you cancel — that integration is Housecall Pro's, not yours.

Housecall Pro Alternative Questions

Is Obravetta cheaper than Housecall Pro?

At one and three users, clearly: $27/mo and $97/mo against Housecall Pro Basic at $79/mo month-to-month and Essentials at $189/mo. At exactly five users on annual billing, Housecall Pro Essentials at $149/mo is cheaper than Obravetta Pro at $247.50/mo, and we'll say so plainly. Past eight users it flips back, because Housecall Pro adds $35/mo per seat on Max while Obravetta Pro is flat — a twelve-person crew is $469/mo on Max month-to-month versus $297/mo on Pro.

How many users does Housecall Pro Basic include?

One. Basic is a single-user plan, and it also excludes QuickBooks Online sync and employee GPS tracking. Essentials is the five-user tier at $149/mo annual or $189/mo month-to-month, and Max covers eight users at $299/$329 with additional seats at $35/mo.

What does Housecall Pro gate behind its higher tiers?

Per Housecall Pro's published pricing page: QuickBooks Online sync, employee GPS tracking, flat-rate pricing, checklist automations, photo reports and commissions all start on Essentials. The sales proposal tool, recurring service plans, route optimization and open API access are Max only.

Can Obravetta do everything Housecall Pro does?

No, and we'd rather be straight about it. Quoting, invoicing, payments, scheduling, dispatch, online booking, review management and customer management are comparable. Housecall Pro is stronger on consumer financing, employee GPS tracking, route optimization, flat-rate price book, native recurring service plans, photo reports and technician commissions. Obravetta is stronger on lead capture, missed-call text back, automated follow-up, email and text marketing, a website built for you, multi-channel inbox and AI answering — all included rather than sold separately.

What about the $26 first-month offer?

Housecall Pro's pricing page shows introductory offers — $26 for the first month on Basic and Essentials, and $99/mo for three months on Max — after which the standard rate applies. It's a real discount, it's just worth doing the math on month four rather than month one. Obravetta's prices are the same in month one and month forty.

How hard is it to move from Housecall Pro to Obravetta?

Customers and contacts import from a CSV export, usually the same afternoon. Automations and pipeline stages have to be rebuilt because they don't transfer between platforms — on Contractor Pro we build those for you as part of setup. Most businesses run both in parallel for a couple of weeks. Neither platform requires a contract, so an overlap costs one extra month at most.

Do I need a credit card for the free trial?

Yes — the 14-day free trial starts from a checkout page, so a card is collected up front and you aren't billed until day 15. You can cancel inside the trial at any point and you won't be charged.

Try It Against Your Own Numbers

Fourteen days is long enough to see whether the follow-up automation books jobs you were losing. Keep Housecall Pro running while you find out.
